Pickleball Ladders, Programs & Tournaments

DUPR

DRYTC competitive Pickleball members are now using DUPR for both evening competitive league and morning competitive open play.

DUPR is optional for recreational play, however, DUPR is a great tool for all levels of player as it provides a way to track improvement over time. Many sports have adopted such a rating system including tennis, squash and golf.

Having an accurate rating is very helpful if you want to occasionally participate in a couple of morning competitive open play games, sign up for a clinic that will be most beneficial for your skill level, join a league with a posted minimum rating, or sign up for the right section in a tournament.

What is DUPR?

DUPR stands for “Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating.” It is a very accurate and reliable international rating system. All players, regardless of their age, gender, location, or skill, are rated on the same scale, based on their game results. Your DUPR rating is calculated by games won and type of result (recreational play vs. league, sanctioned tournaments, etc.)

DUPR is free to register, and anyone can have a rating. You simply play a game (with recreational or competitive players on DUPR), agree the score will be entered before the game, then record the score and the names of the players. DUPR then calculates skill levels.

When joining DUPR everyone is automatically assigned a rating of 3.5. That rating will adjust as you play games against other DUPR players. The more games you enter, the more accurate your rating will be.
